Jack Abbott is finally seeing a light at the end of The Young and the Restless tunnel when it comes to clearing Diane of the murder charges. He’s so, so close. But he’s also in so, so much of a hurry. Jack doesn’t want Diane free as a bird tomorrow, he wants her free as a bird yesterday. Just how far will he go to make that happen?

Daniel (Michael Graziadei) tried to convince Jack (Peter Bergman) and Kyle (Michael Mealor) that he is the only one Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) reached out to for her living confession. As of now, the Abbott men believe him. But if Jack starts to suspect that Summer is lying, what’s to stop him from pressing his daughter-in-law to her breaking point to get at the truth? Jack loves Summer like a daughter. And Kyle is his son. But will Jack risk destroying the young people’s marriage if it helps Diane (Susan Walters)?
Young and Restless: Con Man
Jack understands that the only foolproof way to clear Diane of Phyllis’s murder charges is to produce a living, breathing Phyllis. But he also understands that he has to be delicate about it. If Michael (Christian Le Blanc) thinks he has an address for his good pal, Jack can’t just go charging in, making demands. If he does, Phyllis will just take off again. After all, the woman flat-out killed Jeremy (James Hyde) to cover up her lies. She isn’t going to clear Diane just because Jack asks nicely.

Jack Abbott: Power of Young and the Restless Persuasion
But what if Jack can convince Phylis that news of her “death” reminded him that she was the one he wanted all along? Thinking he might never have Phyllis now made Jack realize Diane was just a poor, scheming, non-redheaded substitute for the true love of his life. Jack wants to be with Phyllis forever. All she has to do to make that happen is reveal herself to the world. Surely, she’d be willing to do that for him?
