Soap veterans Crystal Chappell and Michael Sabatino both appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful (though not at the same time). He was bad guy/designer Anthony Armando and she recurs as Dani, one of the late Caroline’s mothers. Now, the couple has family news of their own to share.
Crystal Chappell’s Family Is Growing!
As previously reported, Chappell and Sabatino, are set to become first-time grandparents this fall. Now, the family is revealing some news about the upcoming bundle of joy. Chappell shared a tweet posted by the Venice the Series Twitter account that Jake Sabatino, the couple’s son, and his wife Grace are expecting in October of this year a boy! Last month, Chappell first shared the news that Jake and Grace were expecting their first child. “Michael and I are going to be grandparents,” Chappell said. “We’re super excited. We wish [our son] Jake and [our daughter-in-law] Grace — they’re going to be great parents — all the best.”
No word yet on the baby’s name, however, Chappell has shared the new handles that she and Sabatino will be taking on. She’ll be known as “Gran” and he’ll be called “Pop.”

In 1993, after wrapping up a run as bad guy Lawrence Alamain on Days of our Lives, Sabatino joined BB as Anthony. He helped Sally (Darlene Conley) launch the Grand Diva line and became obsessed with Macy (Bobbie Eakes). He framed Thorne (Jeff Tracta) for Ivana’s (Monika Schnarre) murder. When Macy rebuffed Anthony’s advance, he tried to kill her, but Sally took the bullet meant for her daughter.
Chappell joined BB in 2012 as Danielle, the wife of Karen Spencer (Joanna Johnson); both women are mothers to the late Caroline (Linsey Godfrey). Karen had been on the story canvas back in the 1990s, ironically, at the same time that Sabatino was on as Anthony.
After exiting Los Angeles, Karen discovered, off-camera, that she was a lesbian and fell in love with Dani. Chappell last aired as Dani in 2013.
