How Did Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux Meet?
The two actors were introduced on the set of Tropic Thunder back in 2007. Theroux co-wrote the film, while Aniston’s longtime friend, Ben Stiller, had a starring role in the movie.
Reconnected
A few years after meeting, the pair reconnected on the set of their film, Wanderlust, which was released in 2011. Theroux was still with his longtime girlfriend Heidi Bivens at the time, but they split shortly after filming ended. Aniston and Theroux were then spotted together at various events in the spring and summer of 2011 before their relationship was confirmed.
Engagement
Following a little over a year of dating, Theroux popped the question to Aniston with a stunning eight-carat diamond that was worth half a million dollars. The ring was designed by Peter Meksian and Theroux proposed on his birthday, August 10, 2012.

Wedding
After a three year engagement, Aniston and Theroux decided to have a very private wedding in the backyard of their home in Bel Air. In fact, the wedding was disguised as a 44th birthday party for Theroux!
Countless celebrities attended the wedding, including Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi, Emily Blunt, and John Krasinski. Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel officiated the ceremony, while comedian and actress Amy Sedaris was Theroux’s “best man.”
Parting Ways
Just two and a half years after saying “I do,” the couple announced their split on February 15, 2018, with a joint statement. Despite their breakup, Aniston and Theroux remain friendly.
