In the Beginning
Longoria was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas as the youngest of four girls to parents who both have Mexican ancestry. She won the title of Miss Corpus Christi in 1998!
The Master
Not only did Longoria get her Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology from Texas A&M, but she also got her master’s degree in Chicano Studies from California State University, Northridge in 2013!
Soapy Past
Many know Longoria was on The Young and the Restless as Isabella for a couple of years, but before that she was on General Hospital when they needed the character of Jax to “see” Brenda but Vanessa Marcil was not available. Longoria stood in as her and met, later married, and divorced Marcil’s ex-fiancé, Tyler Christopher (ex-Nik).
Breakthrough Role
Longoria snagged her breakthrough role on Desperate Housewives as Gabrielle Sollis in 2004. She was on the show for eight seasons and received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series Comedy in 2006.
Actress, Producer, and Director
Along with being an actress, Longoria is also a producer and a director. Not only is she a producer on her current show, Grand Hotel, she has also produced many projects including Telenovela, Devious Maids, and the film John Wick. She directed the Season 3 finale of ABC’s Black-ish, an episode of Jane the Virgin, and an episode of Grand Hotel.
