Juan Pablo Galavis was The Bachelor back in 2014, and his season was certainly one for the books. Though he started out as a fan-favorite, viewers quickly turned on him and he’s since become one of the most controversial Bachelors ever.

Former Soccer Star
Galavis played college soccer and then went on to play professional soccer on various teams in Venezuela, his home country. He then joined Miami FC back in 2008, which is the team he was still with when he retired.
Proud Papa
Before going on The Bachelorette, Galavis had a daughter with his ex-girlfriend, Carla Rodriguez. Their child, Camila, was born in 2009.
History Making
The Bachelor isn’t exactly known for straying from their usual formula. But when Galavis was cast as The Bachelor in 2014, he became the first Latino to ever be the lead on the show.
Controversial Bachelor
Though he was definitely a fan-favorite when he was on The Bachelorette, he had a different reception as The Bachelor. He did not propose to any of the women on his season, and he didn’t even tell any of them he loved them. He also didn’t handle the women’s emotions very well. He remains one of the most controversial Bachelors.
Happily Ever After
Following his time on The Bachelor, Galavis fell in love with a Venezuelan model and TV host, Osmariel Villalobos. The pair got married in August 2017.
