There’s a Salem supercouple that typically gets absolutely no respect on Days of Our Lives: Justin and Adrienne.
Although Justin (Wally Kurth) has gotten more air time of late, it’s only been as a supporting player, representing Gabi (Camila Banus), who’s been accused of murdering Andre (Thaao Penghlis).
Meanwhile, Adrienne (Judi Evans) has been MIA for weeks. Does she even live in the Kiriakis mansion anymore?
Kurth and Evans are two of DAYS’ most consummate performers who could enhance any storyline on the canvas. Or, better yet, they could lead one all their own. The two actors deserve more to do.
Connect the Relatives
Have the writers forgotten how connected Justin and Adrienne are to everyone in Salem?
Justin is a prominent member of the super-rich Kiriakis family. Adrienne is a Johnson, which makes her sister-in-law to Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), and aunt to Abigail (Marci Miller), JJ (Casey Moss) and Tripp (Lucas Adams).
Yet, she rarely crosses paths with any of them. Above all, she is Steve’s (Stephen Nichols) sister. It made no sense that she never visited him in the hospital when he was seriously ailing after being poisoned and, to this point, hasn’t even been told he could be going blind.
Strictly Business
From a business standpoint, Justin is the eldest heir to the Kiriakis empire and the only person who has been by Victor’s (John Aniston) side for some three decades. Shouldn’t he be the prime candidate to succeed his uncle and take over Titan?
Instead, it’s been all about Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Sonny (Freddie smith) vying for the position. And, more importantly, shouldn’t Victor have turned to Justin to help bring down Eve (Kassie DePaiva)? After all, he used to date her and has the inside track on her weaknesses and insecurities.
Sons for Days
Then there’s Justin and Adrienne’s immediate family. Aside from Sonny, who they’ve barely supported during the dissolution of his marriage to Will (Chandler Massey), they also have three other sons: Alexander, Victor and Joseph.
If the trio were to arrive in Salem, they would immediately infuse the Kiriakises with new, younger blood. Plus, they’d give their parents more reason to be onscreen as the couple helps establish the trio and introduce them to viewers.
Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for air times.
