As Stefan prepared to enact his plan to free Gabi from prison and exit the country, he stumbled across shocking information that he could use as leverage on the June 14 episode of Days of Our Lives. Plus, EJ may not be prepared for his rude awakening.
EJ’s World Is About To Come Crashing Down
Stefan (Brandon Barash) was not very happy when Kristen (Stacey Haiduk) informed him that she would no longer be helping him find evidence to clear Gabi’s (ex-Camila Banus) name in the murder of Li (Remington Hoffman). You see, off-screen she managed to convince the DiMera Enterprises board of directors that she’s the ideal candidate for the CEO position. So much so that they gave her the job. However, EJ’s too busy trying to get Paulina (Jackée Harry) booted from her mayoral position, that he had no idea this was going down.
Kristen approached him in the episode’s final scene and after realizing he didn’t know about the job, she stated, “Apparently you’re gonna need to update your resume.” As she said to Stefan earlier, EJ’s going to have a conniption when he hears the news, and we’re excited for the fallout. However, Paulina’s gonna have to tread carefully in her upcoming battle to save her job because EJ is known for having a scorched Earth policy when he’s been crossed, and Kristen’s revelation will probably send him over the edge. This would force him to put all of his energy into ousting the mayor and taking her seat, and no scandalous stone will be left unturned in his wake.

Preparing for Life on the Run, Stefan Finds Game Changing Information
Speaking of scandals, although Kristen said she wouldn’t help him clear Gabi’s name, she told him that in the safe there was a ton of money and a list of contacts who could help him and his wife set up shop in another country with new identities. When he was grabbing the items to take with him, he didn’t find the list she promised, but rather, paternity results declaring that EJ is not Jude’s father. Whether or not it lists Eric (Greg Vaughan) as the baby daddy is unknown at this point, but the look on Stefan’s face was priceless. You could see the gears turning in his head as he was probably trying to figure out how to use it to his advantage. He could blackmail EJ into somehow helping him get Gabi released without having to resort to a daring escape. (Learn why hardly anyone knows Eric is Jude’s dad.)
In a perfect world, he could conceivably team up with Paulina to get her to force Melinda (Tina Huang) to reopen Gabi’s case with the promise of having incriminating information against EJ. If the mayor agrees, Stefan could threaten EJ that he’ll reveal the paternity results unless he backs off on his war against Paulina. It could be a win-win for both her and Stefan if they join forces to take EJ down.
