Maggie and Konstantin’s wedding day arrived and was full of surprises on the June 7 episode of Days of Our Lives, and Konstantin tried getting the Pawn to do his bidding after Maggie’s plan was set in motion. Plus, the villain made a shocking revelation.

Maggie Scores a Checkmate

Prior to his wedding to Maggie (Suzanne Rogers), Konstantin (John Kapelos) used his card to hypnotize John (Drake Hogestyn) and ordered him to kill his new bride after the ceremony. Justin (Wally Kurth) was officiating the nuptials when he got a message in the middle of it explaining that a large sum of money was missing from Victor’s (John Aniston) charitable trust, with several recent withdrawals. Konstantin — who is in charge of the trust — denied any knowledge of it, despite the fact that he’s supposed to authorize any transaction made with the charitable fund. Seeing the Greek trembling in his boots was great, and he knew he’d been set up.

What made the whole thing even more enjoyable was when Maggie accused him of embezzlement, he ordered John to kill Steve (Stephen Nichols) and everyone there, including himself. However, we knew that Marlena (Deidre Hall) helped deprogram John, and when he revealed he was no longer Konstantin’s “Pawn,” we cheered. The payoff from Maggie’s plan was worth the wait, and the show gets points for not dragging it out any longer. Maggie also pulled out the original prenup that Konstantin thought he’d burned and showed it to him in a most satisfying moment.

Konstantin Dropped a Major Bombshell

Not wanting to suffer his lies anymore, Maggie laid into the villain for taking advantage of her grief over Victor’s death. She mentioned when Xander’s (Paul Telfer) and Sarah’s (Linsey Godfrey) baby was kidnapped, and for a moment, you could see the terrified look on Theresa’s (Emily O’Brien) face because she was worried he would out her as his accomplice. It didn’t get that far because Konstantin only had revenge on his mind. Justin had to hold Xander back, who was ready with clenched fists to knock the criminal’s dentist into a higher tax bracket.

Konstantin revealed that he wanted revenge against Victor, who was inadvertently responsible for his daughter’s death. And then, in a shocking moment, Konstantin gloated as he took credit for Victor’s demise, admitting that he had sabotaged the Kirakis’ plane, causing it to send him to a watery grave.

This brings closure to the mystery of why Victor died, but there are a lot of loose threads that need to be followed up: The fact that Xander is Victor’s true heir, not Alex (Robert Scott Wilson), and the fact that Theresa was not only working with Konstantin to steal the Kiriakis fortune. But she also came up with the idea of hiding the true heir because she knew she could get Alex to marry her and steal the inheritance from him. Chances are, Konstantin will give up Theresa to save his bacon, and we’re excited to see what comes next! (Find out more about when Victor’s plane went down.)
