Hilary Curtis has changed a lot over the last few weeks on The Young and the Restless. Her tabloid gossip show has become nicer and she wants to have a baby! How will the lives of those around her be affected by her wanting to become a mom?
For starters, Sam’s got himself an unofficial godmother/aunt in the doting TV personality. Before Lily started looking after Cane’s son, Hilary (Mishael Morgan) volunteered to keep an eye on the infant and she fell for Sam pretty quickly.
Since Lily (Christel Khalil) seems to be unable to bond with baby Sam because he represents Cane’s infidelity, Hilary might see an opening to be more than Sam’s occasional babysitter. Does Lily have another rival for a place in Cane’s life?
We don’t see Hilary going all “Sheila Carter” and start taking kids that aren’t hers but now that child-taker Dina (Marla Adams) is off living in Paris, Devon’s ex is going to be the top suspect if Sam goes missing! Could that happen — perhaps when Lily’s heart isn’t totally into watching him, maybe at the park?
Another idea is that Hilary might have another reason to go after Cane (Daniel Goddard). She’s looking for a donor to father her child and since he fathered Sam, Cane’s still pretty fertile! Would he be a donor for new bestie Hilary?
It would make sense that she has her eye on Devon (Bryton James) as well. After all, he is the love of her life and fans want to see them back together.
Plus, he’s rich and can provide not only a constant male influence for a child but also every material good that a baby could ever want or need.
Hilary’s road to motherhood shouldn’t be a clear path, however. And with Cane and Lily just getting back together, it could be interesting if Cane did Hilary this “favor” and then she and Devon eventually reunite.
It would tie the two couples even closer together while also giving them something — or someone to fight over. Then again, what if Lily can’t accept Sam in her life? Could Cane maybe gift his son to Hilary to raise, while he focuses on the family he really wants?
