Y&R star Jess Walton remembered her late husband John James, founder of The Grief Institute, on what would have been the couple’s 41st wedding anniversary.

Jess Walton Marks Her First Anniversary Without John James

The Jill Foster Abbott Atkinson actress recently took to social media to share a painful first with her friends, family, and fans. December 20, just days before Christmas, would have been her 41st wedding anniversary with John. She included a sweet picture from what appeared to be her wedding day. She held a colorful bouquet while kissing her love.

Walton included a poignant caption with the sweet photograph, “41 years ago on our wedding day, I kissed the love of my life. Wherever you are my angel, thank you for it all. I’m kissing you in my heart.”

Like many others in the United States and worldwide, Walton experienced a difficult 2021 filled with loss. First, her husband of over 40 years passed away from liver cancer in August. Then, not too long after that, she revealed that her beloved horse, Ace, died. Finally, she ended up saying goodbye to her two dogs — Jake and Lola.

Life’s Work

The actress has shared some photos of herself and John since he passed away, and she seems to be sharing some of her grieving process, which could be a tribute to his life’s work with The Grief Institute. In addition, to mark Thanksgiving, she revealed that her son, Cole James, worked to carry on the Grief Recovery Method, which her husband began.
