There isn’t much going on for Paul on The Young and the Restless, but Doug Davidson has a lot to celebrate!
That’s because he was born on October 24, 1954 in Glendale, California, meaning he is turning 64 today.
While he majored in marine biology at Occidental College, his first acting role was in 1977 in the film Fraternity Row, a story of an upper-class college in the early ’50s and how a supposedly harmless hazing incident resulted in the death of a student.
But it was in 1978 that he scored the role that would change his life — playing Paul on The Young and the Restless.
He credits his legendary co-star Jeanne Cooper, who played town matriarch Kay Chancellor, as being an enormous influence on him and as his mentor.
During his time on the soap, he also continued to appear in other projects, including in mini-series, I’ll Take Manhattan with Valerie Bertinelli and Barry Bostwick, Mr. Write with Paul Reiser and Jessica Tuck (Cassandra, General Hospital), and Diagnosis Murder.
This year, Davidson revealed that he is no longer on contract on the soap and that he doesn’t have any more days scheduled to shoot as of now.
On the personal side, Davidson has been married to actress Cindy Fisher since May 27, 1984. They wed at the Santa Barbara Biltmore Hotel, and one of the ushers at their wedding was close friend Rick Springfield (ex-Noah Drake/Eli Love, General Hospital).
They have two grown children — Calyssa and Caden. His hobbies include sailing, scuba diving, water skiing, and has a brown belt in Karate.
Soap Hub wishes Davidson the happiest of birthdays and you can too with the tweet link below.
