The Y&R spoilers recap for Wednesday, February 9, 2022, brings drama and intrigue as Ashland Locke gets a new look and recommits to following the plan. Victor Newman is on to his son-in-law, though, and he, like his daughter, is always several steps ahead, which means Ashland should watch his back. Meanwhile, Nikki Newman gave Lily Winters some advice about running Chancellor like Katherine. Next, Billy Abbott clashed with Sally Spectra. Finally, Adam Newman had a run-in with his brother-in-law and later delivered happy news to his girlfriend-to-be.
Y&R Spoilers Recap Highlights
Robert Newman took over the role of Ashland, and he got right to business. First, he let Adam (Mark Grossman) know that he and Victoria Newman Locke were in lock-step when it came to matters of business. They’re on entity now. Adam played innocent, but neither Ashland nor Victoria bought it.
In some possible good news, though, Victoria surprised Ashland by agreeing to Adam’s new choice of COO. After all, the former designer is wreckless, which works in Victoria and Ashland’s favor in the long run if it helps hang Adam.
Young and the Restless: Two COOs
While Adam was squaring away his choice of Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) with his sister, the unknowing new COO threw around her new title in hopes of getting under Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) skin and boy did it work. Billy’s mouth hit the floor when he learned that they both held the same job title at big, impressive companies.
Of course, Billy didn’t hesitate to remind Sally of her misdeeds, but she threw it back on him, reminding him that he’s no victim. Score one for Ms. Spectra.
Y&R Spoilers Recap: The Best CEO
Meanwhile, Lily (Christel Khalil) ran into Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and asked for Nikki’s advice as Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) friend. Nikki gave Lily some information about Katherine’s history in the company, and she predicted Kay would want Lily to have fun in the position. She also reiterated that both Katherine and Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) were looking over Lily. She finally shocked everybody by saying Lily should trust Jill Foster Abbott Atkinson’s (Jess Walton) judgment.
Later, Lily and Billy worked at home together because…construction, and Billy told Lily she’s the best CEO Chancellor ever had. However, Lily admitted she was anxious about her new position, especially after an employee left.
As for Lily, she tried to get to the bottom of Billy’s restlessness, but he assured her that he’d be sleeping like a baby dreaming of all the podcasts he’d create with Hamilton Winters. Sure Billy, nobody, not even Lily, bought that.
Y&R: Too Glib
Victor (Eric Braeden) summoned Ashland. He asked Ashland about the clinic in Peru, and the supposedly sick man explained why he had supported it. Ashland told a story about a former colleague who was ill and needed the struggling clinic’s health. Ashland funded it through illegal means as a matter of life and death rather than dealing with international red tape. Victor noted how serendipitous the whole thing was, but Ashland preferred to think it was karma.
Later, Ashland walked into Society’s bar and ripped off his tie while drinking scotch. He received a phone call about an American asking about him in Peru. He barked at whoever was on the phone that he’s still committed to The Plan.
At the Ranch, Victor told Nikki their son-in-law’s answers seemed too glib, and that worried him. After all, the whole goal is to protect Victoria from harm, and perhaps Ashland didn’t share that goal. Victor wasn’t quite sure just yet.
