Something big may be brewing on “The Young and the Restless.” A well-known and much-loved doctor is returning later this month.
Is There a Doctor in the House?
According to the July 11 issue of Soap Opera Digest, Dr. Shelby (Terrell Tilford) will be on duty starting July 21st. Does this mean there will be even more excitement for the residents of Genoa City?
It’s only the first day of the month and we’ve already had a shooting, a kidnapping, and a brutal attack on Mariah (Camryn Grimes). What could be next? Every time Dr. Shelby is around there’s always someone in a life or death situation.
Why We Think He’ll Be Around…
A casting call last month for who seems Neil’s (Kristoff St. John) parents could hold some clues. Their roles are said to start taping this month. The couple is coming to clear the air and deal with bad blood within their family.

Could something terrible happening Neil be what prompts their visit? In all the years he’s been in GC, he’s never really talked about his parents. They haven’t attended his weddings or appeared for the birth of his children. It may take something huge for them to show their face and see their son.
Neil’s drinking has a tendency to get out of control–and he’s yet to check himself into treatment. If he has an accident due his boozing, we may be seeing the end of life as we know it for the Winters family patriarch.
