Soap Opera Comings and Goings: Vets Arrive And A Whistleblower Stays On

Who’s coming and who’s going from the soap opera casts of The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless?

Soap Opera Casting For The Week of January 1, 2024

Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day-player roles.

The Young and the Restless

Another beloved daytime star is heading to Y&R. Brian Gaskill, remembered for his roles as angel Rafe Kovich on Port Charles (2001-2003) and Bobby Warner on All My Children (1995-1998), has been cast as Seth. The mystery man will interact with Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) at an AA meeting. 

General Hospital

Valentin’s (James Patrick Stuard) troubled daughter, Charlotte Cassadine, will be off the General Hospital canvas for a bit. Actress Scarlett Fernandez is taking some time off to recover from surgery. Fernandez recently had a bone tumor removed from her leg.  

Cameron Mathison has returned to the Port Charles scene as Drew Cain, after taking a short break to work on another project,  The character had been off in Australia. Mathison has scenes with Kelly Monaco’s Sam on Tuesday, January 2 and Laura Wright’s Carly on Wednesday, January 3.  

Joshua Benard pops back in as Adam on Thursday, January 4. Look for Joss (Courtney Fulk) and Dex (Evan Hofer) to find the character in a surprising state. 

That was Nicole Paggi subbing for Kirsten Storms as Maxie Jones, last week.  And Carlos Arellano turned up as Father Molina, the priest who interacted with Jeff Kober’s Cyrus. 

The Bold and the Beautiful

Adain Bradley continues his return as Xander Avant on Tuesday, January 2. He’ll continue to deliver the goods to Finn (Tanner Novlan) about Thomas’ (Matthew Atkinson) tainted past.

Also, look for Romy Park to return as Poppy Nozawa, Luna’s mother, on Wednesday, January 3, and Thursday, January 4. She’ll be interacting more with Bill Spencer (Don Diamont).

Days of our Lives

There wasn’t any casting news for DAYS available for this coming week.
