The Young and the Restless (YR) recap for Monday, December 25 features four Christmas carols brought to life in Genoa City.
Round Yon Virgin, Mother and Child
Sharon (Sharon Case) and Mariah (Camryn Grimes) realized they hadn’t gotten each other anything for Christmas yet – how do you make a mistake like that? – and frantically scramble. They ended up getting each other the exact same thing. Which neither liked. But then Mariah calls Sharon “Mom” for the first time…
In the middle of reading children’s letters to Santa, Hilary (Mishael Morgan) came upon one from little her – when her name was still Annie, and all she wanted for Christmas was pots and pans and a dress for her Mommy.
Hilary’s childhood teacher confessed she kept it and sent it. Hilary missed the little girl she was, and Devon (Bryton James) reassured her there is nothing wrong with wanting more out of life.
And a Partridge In a Pear Tree
Billy (Jason Thompson) was frantic when his gift for Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) failed to arrive by Christmas morning. Victoria (Amelia Heinle) told Phyllis not to be too hard on the guy. Phyllis finally got her pear tree, five golden rings… and a cake she and Billy ate in bed.
Hark, Who Goes There?
Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) encountered a homeless woman named Kathy who reminded Nikki of Kay – and the woman stole her purse. Nikki understood that people can fall on hard times, and promised she won’t press charges.
Later, Sharon said there is nobody named Kathy staying at the shelter, and Nikki assumed this was Kay’s way of reaching out. She wished her old friend a Merry Christmas via her plaque in the park.
