The Young and the Restless (YR) recap for Friday, May 12 rings in an early Mother’s Day, as Jack, Ashley, Traci, Abby, and Kyle celebrate with Dina, Sharon gives Nikki an unexpected gift, and Lily is surrounded by her family as Hilary wishes she had the same.

Are You My Mother?
A Mother’s Day brunch for Dina (Marla Adams) went awry when Jack (Peter Bergman) kept snarking about her happy memories with John and their children.

Jack has every right to be angry, but Ashley (Eileen Dvidson) and Traci (Beth Maitland) shame him by remindedg that this could be Dina’s last Mother’s Day.

Jack mellowed and mades peace with his mother. Even though he’s also running a second DNA test, this time comparing his genes to Billy’s (Jason Thompson).

Abby (Melissa Ordway) called out Kyle (Michael Mealor), accusing him of splicing Dina’s confession into her movie.

Kyle copped to stealing and decrypted the flash drive, but claimed he didn’t air the video. Why would he? The blood Abbott clause affects him too! Abby realized that Kyle is pals with someone who would want to ruin Jack – Victor (Eric Braeden)!

Mom Of the Year
After Kyle reminded Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) of how she killed his mother, Diane, Nikki had a small breakdown. Sharon (Sharon Case) comforts her and assured Nikki that everything she did, she did in self-defense, and in order to protect her children.

Nick (Joshua Morrow) was a bit thrown off by their newfound closeness, but then gave his mom a gift: A plaque honoring her work with Chancellor Park. Where JT is buried….

One, Big Happy Family
Watching Lily (Christel Khalil) celebrate Mother’s Day with Cane (Daniel Goddard), their kids, and even Sam, Hilary (Mishael Morgan) told Devon (Bryton James) she hopes he’ll be celebrating her and their baby next year.

The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
