The Young and the Restless (YR) recap for Friday, January 19 shows what happens when Mariah finally realizes what Tessa has done, Victoria finally realizes what she actually wants, and Lily finally realizes what she’s in for with Cane…and Sam.

Liars and the People Who No Longer Love Them
Hilary (Mishael Morgan) put her sudden plans for motherhood on the backburner when work calls. She wanted Devon (Bryton James) to debut Tessa’s (Cait Fairbanks) new song on The Hilary Hour. She reminded him that he owes her. Tessa didn’t want to do it, but Devon reminded her she’s a professional. And she has a contract. So sing!

Before performing the single she stole, Tessa dropped Mariah’s (Camryn Grimes) missing journal behind a table. But it wasn’t enough to keep Mariah from realizing where Tessa got her “inspiration.” And she leapt up to ream Tessa out for it. Live on the air….

Home, Sweet Home
The homelessness problem in Genoa City is even worse than Sharon (Sharon Case), Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), and Nick (Joshua Morrow) know! Now J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) has nowhere to live!

Luckily for J.T., a “where is this relationship going” conversation with Victoria (Amelia Heinle) ended with her inviting him to move in with her, and giving their relationship a second chance.

Maybe Baby
Cane (Daniel Goddard) and Lily (Christel Khalil) told Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) and Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) that they’re back together, and Cane will be moving back home. Cane also brought Sam over. Lily held the baby, and agreed that he can sleep in their room until they have a nursery ready.

But Mattie admitted to Lily that she still doesn’t trust Cane. Or Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu), for that matter. Lily encouraged Mattie not to give up on love. But Lily wasn’t 100% there herself, as she called a mystery person for help.
