Tessa Porter is becoming a regular fixture on the Genoa City canvas — does the mystery girl have an even greater tie to characters on The Young and the Restless (YR)?
Right now, the character is an island, without relatives whom viewers have seen, but the show’s writers could ensconce the newcomer even more by tying her to one of the show’s main families — the Newmans!
While the family’s constant presence on the canvas makes their history well-documented, bringing on a long lost child isn’t out of the question. After all, the show retroactively tinkered with Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) continuity by saying she and Paul had had an out-of-wedlock child, Dylan.
But Tessa could still be a relative of the Newman clan and not be either Victor or Nikki’s child. Maybe she’s the offspring of a fling Nick (Joshua Morrow) had or she’s the daughter of Victor’s brother Matt Miller?
Another possibility is that Tessa is Eve — Cole and Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) infant daughter who died off-screen shortly after birth.
If that ends up being the case, a romance between Tessa and Noah is unlikely as they would be cousins.
Soap Hub asked viewers what their take on Tessa’s origins are and 50% of you feel that she is connected to the Newmans, but that she’s not a family member.
A smaller but solid percentage –35% — suspect that she is someone’s long lost daughter (supporting the Eve theory).
And 15% suspect that there is no connection between Tessa and Victor and his family. Voters may have felt this way because Tessa has referenced having two sisters, but this doesn’t mean Tessa still couldn’t be a long-lost relative. She could have been adopted.
Noah Newman has much in common with his dad, but he hasn’t found his one true love (as Nick did as a teen when he met Sharon).
If Noah and Tessa’s (Cait Fairbanks) dynamic leads to romance and they become star-crossed lovers, then the music teacher could end up being tied to the Newmans for the rest of her life!
