The Young and the Restless

The Young and the Restless Recap, Thursday, July 4: It’s Party Time

The Young and the Restless recap for Thursday, July 4 features a holiday hour that was great for some and not-so-happy for others. Celeste worked her magic, Tessa had reason to celebrate, and Phyllis felt several crushing blows.

A Viral Sensation
It was a big day for Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) when her new song became a massive hit. The video swept the internet. Of course, Mariah (Camryn Grimes) was more than happy to brag.

In fact, when she ran into Kevin (Greg Rikaart) she spent more time gushing over her girlfriend than anything else. She even made him come to the carnival to meet up with Tessa and Ana (Loren Lott). How could he say no?

Phyllis Came Undone
Meanwhile, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) awoke to find Summer (Hunter King) gone and a note left behind. Drunk Summer thanked her mom, but Sober Summer needed more time. She is just not ready to forgive her yet.

Phyllis was visibly upset when she ran into Jack (Peter Bergman) and promptly unloaded on him. Her daughter hates her and she does not get it. Red forgave an unforgivable sin and Summer should too. She whined, she cried, and then she invited Jack to her party. Big mistake.

Her party was the flop of the year. Adam (Mark Grossman) bailed, the other CEOs in town boycotted, and the only people to show were Jack, Lauren, and Michael (Christian LeBlanc) which was more of an obligation than anything else. Red had another meltdown and kicked them out.

Fresh and Fabulous
The Abbott family barbecue was a huge hit, at least for Celeste (Eva LaRue). She had a bit of fun toying with Lola (Sasha Calle) and Kyle (Michael Mealor), especially after her daughter admitted they were living together — as if she didn’t already know.

The real excitement was meeting Jack and being inside the famous Abbott mansion. Celeste comes from a humble life so this was quite a treat. She even flirted it up with the patriarch himself.

Let’s Go Together
Traci (Beth Maitland) invited Cane (Daniel Goddard) but they didn’t stay long. They took off to the carnival for some fun and games. Traci will soon head back to New York and Cane decided to go with her. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
