The Young and the Restless recap for Wednesday, January 2 features Mariah wanting to defend Victor, Cane and Victoria wanting to defend Reed and Charlie, and Kyle defending himself to Lola.
Not Guilty By Reason Of….
Victor (Eric Braeden) warned Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) that he’ll pay for accusing Victor of killing JT (Thad Luckinbill). Abby (Melissa Ordway) rushed to her daddy’s side, where he assured her everything will be fine.
Abby laid into Mariah (Camryn Grimes) for reporting on Victor’s arrest, telling her she only cares about ratings and not poor Victor. Mariah admitted to Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) that she knows Victor isn’t guilty.
Maybe she should come forward with the truth. Tessa noted that would mean Sharon (Sharon Case) being arrested, instead. Better to keep pinning it on Victor.
Sons Set
Victoria (Amelia Heinle) broke off her kiss with Cane (Daniel Goddard) and ran off. He followed. They agreed to keep it a secret and to focus on protecting Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) and Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry).
Billy (Jason Thompson) arrived and bickered with Cane. Later, Victoria discussed protecting Reed with Billy… and kissed him, too. Interesting protection method she has.
At home, Cane confronted Charlie, who admitted he was the one who talked Reed out of turning himself in.
Gift Set
Fen (Zach Tinker) and Kyle (Michael Mealor) squabbled over Lola (Sasha Calle), who pointed out she’s nobody’s possession – go, Lola!
Kyle apologized for giving her an expensive gift and tried to understand why that was wrong.
He admitted that his mom, Jack (Peter Bergman), and Victor bought him expensive stuff to pretend they cared so he was just respecting his own family’s values, but promised to respect Lola’s wishes. She kissed him while Fen looked on with sad eyes.
