The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, August 16 features Kyle and Lola’s wedding, as Kyle got a menacing text, Lola got a surprise guest, and Rey spied the last person he wants to see.

Chapel Hill
Kyle (Michael Mealor) was getting ready to head over to the wedding site. He ignored a call from Theo (Tyler Johnson). So Theo sent a text. Kyle frowned. Kyle ranted to Traci (Beth Maitland) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) about their family’s bad track record with marriage. He isn’t wrong, but they pepped him up, anyway.

Meanwhile, Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) helped Lola (Sasha Calle) get ready, and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) agreed to be Summer’s (Hunter King) date for the wedding.

Last Minute Flight
Lola shared warm words with Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) then got a surprise — Celeste (Eva LaRue) listened to Jack (Peter Bergman) and decided to go back on her word and show up for her daughter’s wedding. (We suspect the private jet Jack offered probably helped). Lola was thrilled.

Tying the Knot
Rey and Celeste both walked Lola down the aisle. They dropped her off with Kyle at the altar, and Celeste spotted their dad, Adrian (Jay Montalvo), lurking off to the side. Adrian says he couldn’t bear to miss his daughter’s big day. He, however, had no problem missing her entire life. Celeste tells him to stay away.

Summer was brave as she watches her ex-husband and the woman he loved even while they were married tie the knot. Phyllis couldn’t help rolling her eyes.

Billy (Jason Thompson) acted happy in front of Victoria (Amelia Heinle), even though earlier he thought he heard Delia again. Devon (Bryton James) and Elena (Brytni Sarpy) were…there.

Kyle and Lola exchanged vows and are pronounced husband and wife with no problems. Did anyone else feel like this isn’t a real soap wedding? The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
