The Young and the Restless recap for Tuesday, January 22 features a cornucopia of lies and their consequences.
Sharon and Jack’s words prompted Nick to suspect Phyllis of lying, Cane punched Billy, Mia manipulated Rey and Sharon, and Jack caught Kerry in a flat-out whopper.
Billy’s Bungles
Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) reamed Billy (Jason Thompson) out for taking the Jabot jet. She felt he undermined her authority. Billy apologized, then admitted he set into motion a bad series of events.
Later, at the Abbott house, Cane (Daniel Goddard) punched Billy for telling Lily (Christel Khalil) about him and Victoria (Amelia Heinle).
Billy claimed he only did what he wished someone had done for him a few months ago, but Cane countered that he only did it because Victoria didn’t want Billy back.
Take Two
Mia (Noemi Gonzalez) suggested Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) ask Arturo (Jason Canela) to be his best man at their upcoming vow renewal.
Rey agreed to think about it. When Mia caught Rey in an intimate conversation with Sharon (Sharon Case), she suggested Sharon also come – and bring a date.
Needling Nick
Nick (Joshua Morrow) spoke to Sharon and Jack (Peter Bergman) about Victor (Eric Braeden), wondering who might be setting his dad up. Both suggested it might be Phyllis.
Nick arrived home to find Michael (Christian J. LeBlanc) there, ready to talk Victor’s defense strategy. Nick asked Phyllis to leave the room. Later, he apologized, but couldn’t help feeling suspicious about his girlfriend.
Feeling good about Kyle’s (Michael Mealor) life, as well as his own, Jack decided to surprise Kerry (Alice Hunter) with a picnic at work. When he didn’t find her at the lab, he called and asks her to join him. Kerry said she couldn’t because she was too busy working at the lab.
She was actually in her car, going somewhere mysterious. (Or maybe to the dry-cleaners, it isn’t clear.)
