The Young and the Restless recap features an hour of memories and flashbacks that both warmed and broke your heart.
Wife Of the Year(s)
Victoria Rowell came back, and fans were treated to a classic clip of Neil and Drucilla’s first meeting. We saw their wedding (where Kristoff’s dad played the minister), and scenes with kids Lily (Christel Khalil) and Devon (Bryton James).
Khalil recalled how working with St. John wasn’t like working with just another actor… it was like working with her own dad. Especially Lily’s weddings, where Neil walked her down the aisle…and made a wedding toast, which included the late, lamented Dru.
Brother Bond
Shemar Moore took fans back to 1994 and his audition, where St. John told YR creator William J. Bell that he wanted “the nervous kid.” We watched a scene where Neil advised Malcolm on how to live his life. While Malcolm wasn’t wearing a shirt because… why not?
Who’s the Boss?
Peter Bergman (Jack) and Jess Walton (Jill) talked doing corporate scenes…as well as Jack’s brutal intervention, while Joshua Morrow (Nick) revealed that all those basketball scenes required both men to wear knee-braces.
And then there was Neil supporting Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), with Braeden sharing wonderful behind the scenes photos.
Dress Up
Remember the costume ball? St. John apparently kept the whole cast laughing as they filmed the endless sequence. Remember Neil threatening Kevin (Greg Rikaart)? St. John freaked Greg out a bit, too.
In His Own Words
But there was also St. John speaking for himself, in interviews, outtakes, and bloopers, proving how much he enjoyed his time on the show, and his castmates.
