Young and the Restless Newcomer Alicia Coppola Starts New Project

It looks like Dr. Meredith is about to be one busy lady, as”Young and the Restless” star Alicia Coppola started her first day filming the new movie “Cowgirl’s Story.”

Coppola will star opposite fellow soap actor Jordi Vilasuso (Dario, “Days of Our Lives”) in a film about a cowgirl trying to find how to fit in at a new school. Dusty (Bailee Madison, “The Good Witch”) eventually finds a friend in Savannah (Chloe Lukasiak, “Dance Moms) when the two bond over living with military parents despite their very different appearances and upbringings.

Coppola plays Dusty’s helicopter pilot mother, Helen, a woman struggling to balance her responsibilities as mother and soldier. Vilasuso will play Mike. Coppola confirmed her new project last week when she shared her first picture from the set. “Great 1st day as mommy #Helen to this gorgeous gal @Bailee Madison on @Cowgirl_story!” she wrote.

Coppola joined Y&R last month as Dr. Meredith, a prison physician in charge of saving Victor from himself. Before life in Genoa City, Coppola made a lame for herself as Lorna on “Another World” in the early 90s.

Vilasuso started playing Dario on DAYS earlier this year. From 2010-2013, he became a household name as Griffin on “All My Children” and is also recognized from his time as Tony on “Guiding Light” in the early 2000s.
