Jeanne Cooper debuted on The Young and the Restless in early 1974 and played the role until her death in 2013. But there’s a daily reminder of the grand dame in the show’s makeup room so she remains ever present in the memories of her fellow actors.
Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea) reminded fans of the show via her Instagram account that a cardboard standup figure of the regal-looking Cooper resides at CBS Television City in Hollywood.
Always Remembered
“The Queen’s always watching over us,” Egan wrote on her social media account. And it’s not just in the makeup room where Cooper and her character are remembered either.
The show’s writers honored both Cooper’s and Kay’s legacy earlier this year by having Jill (Jess Walton) discover a letter that laid to rest the long-running feud between Kay and Jill. The note from Katherine gave Jill some closure by having Mrs. Chancellor acknowledge that her late husband Phillip did indeed love Jill.
Check out Egan’s Instagram post below (which we have to say has beautiful art direction)!
