No more fake-outs. This week on The Young and the Restless, Dylan appears to be gone for good. (Unlike the first time we thought he was gone for good, when he left town on his secret mission, or the second time we thought he was gone for good, when Paul could only find his bracelet in Florida.)
Paul (Doug Davidson), Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Sharon have a come up with a cover story to protect him, resigned to the fact that Dylan is never coming back. But is that the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth? Over 8,000 fans aren’t so sure….
Come Home, All Is Forgiven
In a world where even the dead return on a regular basis, how seriously are we supposed to take a guy merely fleeing for his life and protecting his family?
It seems that 50% of fans know how this game works, and they’re pretty sure they’ll be seeing Dylan in Genoa City again. He may not have the same face, but, rest assured, as soon as Sharon (Sharon Case) is happy with a new man… wham-O!
Hit the Road, Jack
Then again, Dylan (Steve Burton) has always been the hyper-responsible sort. While other men might think nothing of putting their family in the line of fire (so they can sweep in later and protect them, right, Victor?), Dylan is the kind who’d take his vow to protect and serve more seriously than most.
Add to that the fact that Burton always has the option of returning to General Hospital (or whichever show Jill Farren Phelps produces next), and 28% of you feel pretty confident this is the last we’ve seen of him.
Flip a Coin
Of course, Dylan doesn’t necessarily need to be played by Burton (right, Billy? Victoria? Sharon? Nikki? Gloria? Jack? Ashley? Etc…). If a recast is on the table, then 22% of viewers think a Dylan return could go either way.
