Who’s coming and who’s going from The Young and the Restless (YR)? Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?
Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join The Young and the Restless fold in surprise new parts?
Here’s the latest casting news from the CBS soap.
The week of June 11, 2018
There’s a major exit on the horizon. After five years, Mishael Morgan has chosen to leave her role as Hilary Curtis.
Morgan joined the soap back in 2013 and, in time, was thrust into a front burner triangle with Kristoff St. John (Neil) and Bryton James (Devon).
According to reports, the actress’ renegotiations with the soap for a new contract could not be reached. So far, there’s no word as to how her departure will be scripted or a final airdate.
Lauren Woodland returns as Brittany Hodges on Tuesday, June 12. Woodland was a mainstay on the show from 1999 to 2005. She briefly returned for Y&R’s 45th anniversary in March. This time around she’ll be back for a specific story arc.
