Fans of The Young and the Restless will soon see a new character added to the burgeoning music scene.
The role of Tessa Porter has just been cast with daytime newcomer, Cait Fairbanks, filling the role, according to Soap Opera Digest. Tessa is described as an upbeat, free-spirited singer. She’ll bring her strong intuition about people with her when she arrives in Genoa City.
Could she have been brought on to interact with up-and-coming musician, Reed Hellstrom (Tristan Lake Leabu)? After all, things are heating up at Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) club, The Underground, with its Open Mic Night.
Then again, Sharon (Sharon Case) has taken back the reins at Crimson Lights and is looking at making some big changes.
Since Victoria (Amelia Heinle) doesn’t want Reed to be singing at a bar, could the music scene end up moving to the coffee house? Perhaps Sharon will end up giving Nick a run for his money in finding new musical talent in town.
As for the actress, you may recognize Fairbanks from Two and a Half Men and KC and the Underground. She’s already begun shooting scenes for the show, with her new character scheduled to arrive in Genoa City on March 24.
