Young and Restless Alum Alicia Coppola Scores Shameless New Role!

Former The Young and the Restless star Alicia Coppola has scored a new role in the hit Showtime series Shameless.

According to a report by Deadline, Coppola has joined the cast in a recurring role for season seven.

Who She’ll Play
Deadline reported that Coppola will play Sue, a blue collar, no-nonsense woman who works with Ian Monaghan as the supervisor of a group of EMTs.

Coppola is best known for her role on the cult favorite Jericho.

She began her soap opera career in 1991 when she was hired to play Another World’s Lorna Devon, a role she continued playing through 1994.

Born in Huntington, New York, Coppola graduated from Kent School in Kent, Connecticut in 1986 and earned a bachelor’s degree from New York University in 1990.

Personal Life
She is married to actor, writer, and producer Anthony Michael Jones. He portrayed Father Coates on General Hospital, a recurring role he played from 2002 through 2010. The couple has three daughters together: Mila Roselena, born 2002; Esme Marlena, born 2008; and Greta Helena, born 2010.

During her time on The Young and the Restless, Coppola portrayed Dr. Meredith Gates and was briefly involved with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Upon the end of her work on the long-running CBS soap, Coppola took to Twitter to thank those who supported her and her character Meredith.
