Young and the Restless Star Kate Linder Honors Late Charity Advocate

Kate Linder is known for not only playing Esther on The Young and the Restless, but for her charitable endeavors in which she and YR castmates travel to Canada to raise money for worthy causes. Now, Linder is honoring a partner she had in those charities, Linda Yielding, who recently passed away.

“I find it extremely difficult to refer to Linda as ‘was’ rather than ‘is,'” Linder wrote of her dear friend, who passed away on May 25 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. “Linda worked tirelessly to make sure that all of the events for @MarchOfDimesCDA came off without a hitch. How fortunate I have been to have had her in my life, not only as the go-to person for OpportuniTeas, but as a caring and giving friend.

“She always asked me, ‘Are you happy?’ ‘Is everything okay?’ Yet she never lost sight that the Conductive Education program was the star of the show,” Linder continues. “I know that Linda would want us to go on and make sure that OpportuniTeas continue to flourish as part of her lasting legacy.

“To paraphrase one of my late husband’s [Ron Linder] favorite Rudyard Kipling quotes: ‘No written word, nor spoken plea can teach us what we should be. Not all the books on all the shelves – but what Linda Yielding was herself,'” Linder adds. “Linda is definitely gone too soon, but she will never be forgotten and she left her imprint forever on this amazing program, on her beloved husband, and on all of us. @youngandrestlesscbs #yr #opportuniteas #katelinderandfriends @marchofdimescda #conductiveed @kateshightea.”

“My heart is breaking” wrote Mary Licausi, a longtime YR devotee, on Linder’s post. “I love Linda she always was so awesome with me I will miss her so very much.” Soap Hub sends deep condolences to her family and loved ones at this difficult time.
