Back-to-back Emmy winner Hunter King (Summer) has endured her fair share of criticism, but a new round of hatred has gone too far for the “Young and the Restless” star and she’s speaking out.
Last week, King posted a picture of herself and “General Hospital” star Lexi Ainsworth to promote their movie “A Girl Like Her,” which recently got added to the Netflix lineup. While most fans were supportive and excited about her endeavor, there was one fan who spammed her Instagram account with put downs, insults, and even called King some not-safe-for-TV dirty names.
King took the harsh words like the lady she is and posted about her experience. “When u do a film 2 try & bring an end 2 bullying & someone bullies u on ur Instagram my commenting 25 times about how awful they think u r,” she wrote.
King knows too well that one rabid fan won’t ruin a career. Her name was dragged through the mud a few years back when a fake scandal involving ex-costar Michael Muhney hit the internet. Although King had no involvement in Muhney Y&R exit, King faced backlash that lasted way too long.
The actress has starred on Y&R as Summer since 2012, garnering two Emmys for Outstanding Younger Actress. Other credits include the hit sitcom “Life in Pieces,” and the primetime drama”Hollywood Heights.”
Y&R airs weekdays on CBS. Share your thoughts, leave a comment in the section below. Additionally, for more The Young and the Restless spoilers updates, recaps, and news, go to Soap Hub’s Facebook fanpage and join the conversation about all your favorite soaps!
