Since 1997, Camryn Grimes has been a part of The Young and the Restless family. Viewers fell in love with her character Cassie and then welcomed into their homes and hearts her twin, Mariah. Now, Grimes is reaching out with a heartfelt message about a real-life family member.

Camryn Grimes Asks For Your Help

“This is my little sister Payton,” wrote Grimes in an Instagram post, sharing a photograph of her younger sibling. “She is smart, precocious, curious, empathetic, generous, and funny as hell. She’s also just been diagnosed with Lymphoma.

“We have a long tough road ahead, and no one more than Payton. My family and I need your help,” adds Grimes, letting her followers know that she and her brother have set up a GoFundMe page in support of Payton. “Donate if you can. Repost and share if you can. Let’s show my sister how loved and supported she is. You forever have my gratitude and I love you all.”

Grimes’ TV brother Robert Adamson (who recurs as Noah) shared the actress’s post about Payton’s diagnosis. “This hit like a ton of bricks when I found out yesterday,” the actor posted. “Camryn is not only my best friend but also godmother to my daughter. The Grimes’ have always been there for us. We need to do everything we can to give Payton her best shot. She’s a sweet, caring and special girl who deserves better. Please, please help in any way you can.”

The message on Payton’s GoFundMe page offers more details on her condition: “[T]he specifics of her cancer diagnosis are still forthcoming. But as of now, we know that Payton has a mass in her chest that has been diagnosed as Lymphoma. Even though this is all we know, this is still much more than we would like to.

“As of now her Mom and Stepdad Frank, have been at the hospital 24/7, and plan to be by her side for the indefinite future. Due to heavy Covid and ICU restrictions they are the only family members that are allowed. This means that they are both putting work on pause to ensure that Payton receives the best medical care possible and remains in high spirits.”

Soap Hub sends all the best to Payton and the entire Grimes family at this time. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
