It’s not only Jack himself, but The Young and the Restless fans who’ve noticed that their favorite Abbott hasn’t had much to do lately.
He fought with Ashley (Eileen Davidson) for Jabot. He got played by on-and-off-accented Kerry (Alice Hunter). And then he did… nothing. Oh, sure, he propped up Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Lola (Sasha Calle). He had a drink with Victor (Eric Braeden). And he took a spa day (weekend). There, he ran into Sharon (Sharon Case).
Her wisdom about life and relationships — look how successful she’s been with hers! — prompted Jack (Peter Bergman) to tell Dina (Marla Adams) that he forgives her for abandoning him.
And then he decided to write a book about the Abbotts. Or, rather, he decided to ask Traci (Beth Maitland) to do it. She’s better at that sort of thing, being a professional and all.
But that’s not a story. That’s a collection of scenes to ensure the show isn’t in breach of Bergman’s contract. What kind of story should Jack get? Here’s what almost 7,000 viewers said:
The Young and the Restless Poll Results
All Jack needs is love, 89% of you are singing. Sure, Kerry didn’t work out. And Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) is in bed — figuratively if not yet literally — with Adam (Mark Grossman). Sharon has Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) hanging around. And Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) isn’t really a merry widow, after all. So it’ll have to be someone new.
Hey, you know who is new in town? Amanda (Mishael Morgan). And she’s a dead ringer for Jack’s good pal, Hilary.
Big Business
Only 11% are feeling a corporate intrigue storyline but if that’s the crumbs you’re being handed, you’ll take them. Maybe Jack can try to take over Newman Enterprises since Victor is still suffering from a blood disease and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) is not used to being on top. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
