Expectant mom Abby Newman-Abbott Chancellor on The Young and the Restless is getting ready to experience all the joys and first experiences once her child is brought into the world via surrogate Mariah and donor Devon. Her portrayer, Melissa Ordway, already gets to live out those moments now as a real-life mother to daughters Olivia and Sophie Rose.

Melissa Ordway — Proud Mom

“LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!” Ordway cheerfully posted on Instagram, “what a year! Thankful for amazing teachers that went above and beyond to make their year great! Olivia is 5 years old and wants to be a ‘doctor, dentist and singer.’ Her favorite part of the year was ‘playing with her friends, her teachers, and ice cream parties.’

“Sophie is 3 years old and wants to be a ‘dentist,'” the proud mama continues. “Her favorite part of her school year was ‘Mrs. Tracy, playing, and pizza parties.'” Also, there may be a future director in the family. “Olivia also directed and shot her own photoshoot this morning before school drop off.”

Make sure to check out the adorable photos in Ordway’s post below. The actress is wed to actor/singer Justin Gaston (ex-Ben, Days of our Lives). Viewers got to see the couple onscreen last year when Gaston subbed as Chance when his regular portrayer, Donny Boaz, stepped away for a few weeks after contracting COVID-19.

Boaz returned to playing Chance, but at the end of the year, he exited the soap. Lawman Chance was called away on a secret mission. Abby’s been kept company by mother-in-law Nina (Daytime Emmy winner Tricia Cast), who is spending more time in Genoa City and staying with Abby at the Chancellor mansion.

Nina’s no stranger to the Chancellor estate. She lived in the mansion’s attic while pregnant with Chance. Nina later married Chance’s dad Phillip (Thom Bierdz), but their time together was short-lived. Phillip “died” after sustaining injuries in a car accident with loved ones by his bedside.

Years later, it was revealed that Phillip faked his death so that he could leave the United States and live openly as a gay man in Australia. A medical crisis kept Phillip from attending his son’s wedding last year. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
