Young and the Restless Alum Noemi Gonzalez Lands New Film Role

 Comments

Noemi Gonzalez, who had a brief but memorable impact as Mia Rosales on The Young and the Restless, continues to be one of Hollywood’s busiest actresses. In addition to appearing in two seasons of Netflix’s Selena: the Series, she is now headed for another big project.

Noemi Gonzalez Lands Exciting Film Role

Deadline reports that Gonzalez has been added to the cast of The Valet, an English-speaking remake of Francis Veber’s French film that boasted The English Patient’s Kristin Scott Thomas as one of its stars.

Other actors joining the movie’s cast include Tiana Okoye (Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens, The Good Place), Diany Rodriguez (Law & Order: Organized Crime, New Amsterdam), Armando Hernandez (El César series on Prime Video, Disney+ series El Repatriado), and Carlos Santos (Netflix’s Gente-fied, Hulu’s Vacation Friends).

Already signed to the film are stars Eugenio Derbez and Samara Weaving. Richard Wong is the movie’s director. The story, written by Rob Greenberg and Bob Fisher, tells the tale of Olivia (played by Weaving), a movie star, who asks Antonio (played by Derbez), who works as a parking valet, to pretend to be her boyfriend in order to disguise that she’s having an affair with a married man.

Antonio goes along with the charade, but his participation causes him to look at himself in a way he never has in the past. Gonzalez will bring to life the part of Clara, Antonio’s sister. Clara is married to Antonio’s boss.

Gonzalez’s run as Mia in Genoa City was short but memorable. She came to town as a spoiler in the then-budding romance between her ex-husband Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) and Sharon (Sharon Case). Viewers learned that it was Mia’s fling with brother-in-law Arturo (Jason Canela) that ended her marriage.

Mia showed renewed interest in both Rosales brothers after arriving in Genoa City. While in bed with Rey, Mia inadvertently called out Arturo’s name (oops!), squashing any hopes of a reunion. Mia was no fan of Abby’s (Melissa Ordway) and pushed her into the Abbott pool in the cold month of February one year! However, it wasn’t Abby whom Mia sent for a winter swim — it was Lola (Sasha Calle), who was wearing Abby’s coat!

Rey was torn between doing his duty as a lawman to arrest Mia and protecting her as she was pregnant. It turned out Arturo was the dad. He and Mia moved back to Miami, where she gave birth to their son, Mateo. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
