The Young and the Restless (YR) is running kind of low on Abbotts. Fans have known for years that Ashley (Eileen Davidson) wasn’t John’s biological daughter.
Now, Dina (Marla Adams) has dropped the same bombshell about Jack (Peter Bergman). Ashley and Abby (Melissa Ordway) ran a dubious DNA test that seemed to confirm it, which means now Jack’s son Kyle (and the lost, unlamented Keemo), as well as Abby, are out of the Abbott running, too.
There’s still Billy (Jason Thompson) and his kids. And then there’s Traci (Beth Maitland). At this point, she might be John’s only child with Dina (that is, until her mama blathers again). So should she stick around Genoa City to represent? Here’s how over 7,000 fans voted:
Home Is Where the Mansion Is
Traci belongs at the Abbott Mansion, 81% of you insist. It’s just as much her home as it is Jack and Ashley’s – well, more even, now.
Besides, Traci is a good person. And Genoa City often runs a deficit on those.
Not only does Traci keep her siblings – not to mention the quickly unspooling JT (Thad Luckinbill) – honest, she’s lost so much in her life.
Her daughter, Colleen, died. (Not that the heart she donated to Victor has done any good to improve his delightful personality.) Her siblings, nieces, and nephews are all Traci has left. And they’re in Genoa City.
As You Were
Traci serves no purpose back in town, 18% of the audience dismisses. She watches Dina – off-screen.
She chastises her siblings – once in a while. And she smiles bravely. That’s not exactly must-see TV. The Abbotts generate enough drama on their own, they don’t need a Jiminiy Cricket sitting on their shoulder…nagging.
You don’t miss Traci when she’s gone, which is the best piece of evidence to prove how little she’s needed.
The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
