The Young and the Restless

Will Victor Newman Ever Find The Happiness He Craves On The Young And The Restless?

It’s hard to believe Victor Newman was not born rich and aristocratic on The Young and the Restless (YR), but instead was raised as a poor orphan who made his millions on his own.

After all, the accent, the demeanor, and the absolute attitude that he’s always right suggests a life of long privilege.

He has a beautiful family and children who spent much of their lives doing anything to please him, but he always seems to alienate everyone who shows him a little bit of love because he can’t imagine not controlling their lives.

Soap Hub asked if you think Victor might ever find happiness with his family and consensus seemed to not be on Mr. Newman’s side.

You Give Up
Victor (Eric Braeden) is essentially a lost cause say 73% of of you. Family happiness is just not in the cards for Victor thanks to the way he’s lived his life. While he’s had years of indiscretions with his children, he’s outdid even himself in recent times.

I

He was responsible for putting Adam (Justin Hartley) in jail, which ultimately led to his death. Heck, he was even responsible for setting Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) free on society before she was mentally ready.

He’s been keeping Christian’s paternity a secret since before the baby was born, allowing Nick (Joshua Morrow) to think he is his and not Adam’s.

He also recently kicked Nick out of the home he’d lived in for years and then lied to Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind), telling her that her dad moved in with Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan)–but didn’t mention it’s because he gave Nick a reason to need a new roof over his head.

Hope For The Old Guy Yet?
Of course, there are the 27% who are forever optimists and still see a poor, lost boy in Victor (like Nikki likely sometimes does cause she always ends up back with him).

You think there’s a happy ending for Victor down the line, but he just hasn’t learned all his lessons yet. Here’s hoping you’re right, because how many lessons do some people need to be taught before they stop hurting everyone around them–including themselves?
