His The Young and the Restless (YR) character, Ian Ward, is currently in the big house, but might Ray Wise ever come back to Genoa City? The actor, who stars on ABC’s prime-time sitcom, Fresh Off The Boat, says it’s possible!
Right now, Wise notes that Ian is in prison, but says, “I fully expect him to be released at some point in the future. I’m always open to going back [to Y&R].
“I loved that whole experience. Acting opposite Eric [Braeden, Victor] and Melody [Thomas Scott, Nikki] was a real treat. They’re beautiful people.”
Fans of the actor know he got his start in television appearing on the now-defunct soap Love of Life as Jamie Rawlins.
“I was on that show for seven years,” Wise shares. “I know that world very well. [Love of Life] was a half hour show and we’d do it like a play, all the way through. Today, it was so much more expedient. One day, I had 36 pages!”
This fall, Wise can be seen back on Fresh Off The Boat. Watch for hilarity to ensue as his character, Marvin, deals with his wife, Honey (Chelsey Crisp), and her pregnancy!
“I’m going be a father again,” Wise says, speaking in character. “I’ll be going through that whole experience asking [Lewis and Jessica] for advice!”
So while Marvin’s going to have his hands full changing diapers before the season is through, there’s always the chance he could pop back up in Genoa City for a bit. “I hope so,” the actor says.
Wise won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Guest Performer in a Drama Series back in 2015.
“I keep it on the top of the grand piano in the living room,” Wise says with a proud smile.
