Will Dina and Gloria Ever Be Bosom Buddies on The Young and the Restless (YR)?

Jack has never had too good of a track record with women on The Young and the Restless (YR).

His marriages have a tendency to fall apart spectacularly. His ex-wives either try to kill him, like Patty, or lead him around by the nose, like Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott).

Even his relationship with sisters Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Traci (Beth Maitland) is prickly.

There’s no question it all goes back to Jack’s (Peter Bergman) abandonment by his mother, Dina (Marla Adams), when he was still a kid.

Well, now Dina is back in Genoa City, and not only is she trading barbs with Nikki who, Dina can’t help reminding, is still married to Victor (Eric Braeden) even as she dallies with Jack.

She is also none too happy with Gloria (Judith Chapman), Jack’s not-quite-friend, yet with periodic benefits, who was also once married to Dina’s ex, John, and is now acting very flirty with Dina’s whoever-he-is, Graham (Max Shippee).

Never Ending Story
Dina and Gloria have so much in common. Not just John Abbot, but also their terrible parenting skills and resulting screwed up children. They can trade notes about what not to do as mothers.

Which is one of the many, many reasons 88% of you say Dina and Gloria will never, ever be friends. They each enjoy looking down on the other too much. As long as they can think of someone worse, it keeps them from admitting how awful they truly are.

You Gotta Have Frenemies!
Then again, muse a minority 11%, the pair understands each other like no one else ever will. Maybe they can be frenemies. If Kay (Jeanne Cooper) and Jill (Jess Walton) eventually became painfully co-dependent to the point where Esther (Kate Linder) felt left out, there’s hope for anyone!
