Having a baby is never smooth sailing in soaps so Hilary’s quest to become a mom on The Young and the Restless is bound to take an unexpected twist here and there.
Her plan is to have her baby be fathered by her billionaire ex-husband Devon, but will destiny have other ideas?
Hilary (Mishael Morgan) and Devon (Bryton James) have never been in sync with one another when it comes to admitting their feelings. That’s not likely to changed now that they’re divorced!
So, while Hilary feels that she can co-parent with Devon that doesn’t mean it’s going to happen. Lily (Christel Khalil) is the voice of reason in this story, trying to point out to her brother that he and Hilary trying to be parents after their disastrous marriage simply isn’t a rational idea!
While both Devon and Hilary are going ahead with the idea, maybe Hilary will get sidetracked and end up with another potential parent — Charlie!
Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) has recently stated he doesn’t want to go to college. He wants to work in the music business and feels he doesn’t need a degree in order to make that happen!
What would happen if Charlie becomes further estranged from his family over his plans regarding future education. He could end up finding a sympathetic ear in Hilary and if one thing led to another, the two could end up making love.
Then, if Hilary became pregnant after the tryst the drama would really begin! For starters, she might lie to Charlie and tell him that Devon is the dad via artificial insemination.
That way, he wouldn’t feel saddled with having a baby at such a young age. While Charlie and Devon are related (Devon is Charlie’s uncle) it’s important to note there is no blood connection between them as Devon is adopted.
Eventually, it would all come out that Hilary’s baby is not Devon’s but is in the family so that would keep her in everybody’s orbit.
Imagine Lily’s reaction if she were to find out that her nemesis not only seduced her son, but that the act was going to result in her being one of soaps’ youngest grandmothers in history!
Remember, this is speculation only, but it sure would be interesting…
