Why This Young And The Restless Star Will Never Win An Emmy

The Young And The Restless boasts one of the finest casts in daytime history. Not only does it have numerous actors who’ve been with the show for decades, but many of those performers have won Daytime Emmys for their performances. One player, however, hasn’t and he’s saying he never will!

Joshua Morrow, who joined YR 25 years ago in 1994, received five consecutive nominations in the category of Outstanding Younger Leading Actor In A Drama Series starting in 1996.

However, the actor is now saying he’s no longer submitting himself following the Cassie death storyline in 2005, which he feels was not only his finest work but also the best storyline that YR has ever done!

“I did feel like I wanted consideration,” Morrow tells TV Insider, adding that his exclusion that year took him “out of the Emmy process forever. “It hurt my feelings that people felt it wasn’t even under consideration. I’m not saying I deserved to win [but] it hurt that I couldn’t be considered. [The Emmys] aren’t for me.”

Morrow went on to say that he’s been told he tends to excel in storylines that deal with Nick’s children, including his current tale in which he’s battling Adam (Mark Grossman) over custody of Christian.

“There’s something that happens to me when I’m in stories that deal with children,” the actor adds. “I’m comfortable. Being a dad is my world. When I’m portraying a father on the show, it’s a comfortable easy place for me. It’s a role I feel I was made for.

“These children on the show are like my real ones. I love Hunter [King, Summer], Camryn, Alyvia [Alyn Lind, Faith], and Robert [Adamson, ex-Noah] with all my heart. Most of them are adults now and so, the relationships have changed — but I love them and I’d do anything for them.” The Young And The Restless airs weekdays on ABC. Check local listings for air times.
