Why The Abbotts Need Traci Right Now on Young and the Restless

 Comments

Jack and Kyle Abbott have shown what a solid unit their clan is by inviting Tara and her son Harrison into the family home to keep them safe from Ashland Locke on The Young and the Restless. Harrison is being fawned over by Jack, Kyle, and Mrs. Martinez… but someone’s missing — and we don’t see any sign of her in upcoming Y&R spoilers.

Young and the Restless Needs Traci

Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) and Harrison (Kellen Enriquez) have been very grateful that they’ve been welcomed into the Abbott mansion. Ashland (Richard Burgi) knows he’s facing some formidable foes – but the whole situation could be made even more rich if Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) was present in this storyline.

Y&R viewers concur that Traci is not only the glue of the Abbotts but she’s also the moral center in Genoa City. Kyle’s (Michael Mealor) torn between wanting to be there for his newly discovered son and making sure his relationship with Summer Newman (Hunter King) remains intact.

Meanwhile, Summer, who got an earful from calculating Tara, doesn’t want to come between Kyle and his son. Summer’s sought solace from her mother Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), but, well, Phyllis Summers has been known to take a more aggressive stance against her rivals. (Right, Christine Blair Williams?) Summer may want to get other opinions on how to deal with her predicament.

Who better than Traci to be there for both Kyle and Summer, who could use some support and advice right now? Traci, mother to the late Colleen Carlton, had to deal with her daughter living far away from her when Colleen first came back to Genoa City as a teen, so she could relate to Kyle’s concerns of being separated from his son.

Traci’s dealt with “mean girls” in the past (hi, Lauren Fenmore Baldwin!) so, she’d be able to give Summer advice on how to deal with Tara in a way that doesn’t involve a rental car and vehicular assault! Seriously, Traci’s able to calm certain situations with her wisdom and demeanor.

She’s also very strong. We’ve seen the Daytime Emmy-winning Maitland go up against Eric Braeden’s Victor, wagging her finger at him when she feels he’s stepped out of line. We could easily see her go up against the Lockes if either stand to harm any of her loved ones.

We have no doubt that Traci would dote over her great-nephew Harrison, too, as she brings clarity to the ongoing drama with her calm and loving personality. Let’s hope that Traci is back on our screens soon! The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
