They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but we wonder what good is a picture when you can’t recognize the subject? Above is a snapshot of a future star of soaps but can you guess who this little cuddler grew up to be?

Star Of The Soaps

Obviously this young man (now all grown up) is either currently starring in, or is an alum of, one of the four remaining daytime dramas – The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, The Young and the Restless – but that’s probably not much of a hint.

So try these on for size. He began his career at the age of 2 and landed his first contract role when he was 4 years old. He is also a much sought after voice-over artist, a charity founder, and a Daytime Emmy Award Winner.

But just who can he be? Is this a photograph of Rome Flynn (Zende Forrester Dominguez, BB), Kyler Pettis (ex-Theo Carver, DAYS), Tequan Richmond (ex-TJ Ashford, GH), or Bryton James (Devon Hamilton, YR)?

Rome Flynn

Though he did win the 2018 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor, Flynn is not today’s featured star. His first professional credit – the television film Drumline: A New Beat – was achieved when he was 23.

Kyler Pettis

Pettis, who was born in 1992, won the 2019 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor. But he didn’t begin acting professionally until 2014 when he appeared in the web series Old Dogs & New Tricks. So, he isn’t today’s mystery child.

Tequan Richmond

He began acting in 2002 – when he was 10 years old – and he was 13 when he signed the contract that locked him into a role on Everybody Hates Chris. So no, Richmond isn’t the answer to today’s identity query.

Bryton James

James landed his first commercial when he was only 2 years old. Two years later, he was tapped to replace twin brothers Joseph and Julius Wright who played Richard “Richie” Crawford in the sitcom Family Matters.

In 1996, James founded RADD (Recording Artists, Actors, and Athletes Against Drunk Driving), a charity that has since been awarded by the United States government for its efforts. He has also been working as a voice-over artist since 2010.

So, if you hazarded a guess that perhaps the future star of soaps seen in the image above was Bryton James – who has played YR’s Devon Hamilton since June 1, 2004 (and who has won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor) – then you were absolutely correct!
