The Young and the Restless — like all soaps — is known for its supercouples. The Genoa City canvas is filled with some happy duos these days but being happy on soaps can be boring!
Which love pair on Y&R are you hoping will call it quits soon? Soap Hub asked you to weigh in. Here are your responses, one of which is quite surprising!
Victoria, Victorious
The majority of your votes, a little over 46%, went to J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle). Do you want Vicky to break up with her ex so she can get back with her other ex, Billy (Jason Thompson)?
Or do you know that J.T. won’t be around indefinitely since Luckinbill has a successful film producing career (La La Land) that will most likely inevitably take him away from his daytime gig. It can’t be because the pairing isn’t popular. The duo is sizzling on screen!
The Nick Of Time
Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) came in second with almost 38% of your vote and this contingent is likely to get its wish first.
Egan has confirmed her exit from Y&R via social media, so she and Nick aren’t going to make it to the altar or anywhere else. Perhaps someday Chelsea will return to town to make amends for her actions. But for now, it’s over for this fan favorite pair.
Make Up To Break Up
Surprisingly, Cane (Daniel Goddard) and Lily (Christel Khalili), arguably Y&R’s most popular duo, received nearly 16% of your vote.
It’s surprising that this pair would receive any votes since viewers wanted these two back together the entire time they were broken up over Cane’s dalliance with Juliet (Laur Allen). In fact, many fans refused to believe that Cane was ever unfaithful. Maybe you want to see Cane and Lily with strife so that they will have more air time?
Tune In Tomorrow
Voting for a couple to break up may actually be a vote for them having more storyline. After all, if a couple is apart, fans will tune in to see them get back together.
Veteran Y&R fans recall that the CBS soap shot to the number one position around the time Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) split. While they’ve shared reunions over the years it may be better for ratings to keep favorite couples like them apart!
