Victoria Newman hasn’t been acting a bit off on The Young and the Restless (YR) for a while now. In fact, ever since Nikki’s benefit concert gala — when Abby threw a drink at her half -sister in a flash of anger — Victoria’s behavior has been a bit peculiar.
First, Victoria (Amelia Heinle) had a one-night stand with Ben Hochman. While she’s not exactly a prude (she once posed nude for a magazine), it seemed a bit of out character for Nikki and Victor’s daughter.
What’s going on with her? Soap Hub asked Y&R fans to speculate!
Maybe It’s A Tumor
The majority of you, 68%, are theorizing that Victoria’s antics are the result of a daytime trope — the brain tumor storyline. We’ve seen this many times. Characters undergo brain surgery to correct the situation.
If the contract stars align, the surgery is successful and the character doesn’t even have to have his or her hair shaved off.
If Victoria is suffering a brain injury, this could result in Billy (Jason Thompson), her ex, running to her side, putting a strain on his relationship with Phyllis (Gina Tognoni).
Dear Abby
Nearly a third of you, 29%, believe that Victoria’s strange behavior is because of a concussion. You’re likely recalling the previously mentioned drink-throwing scene which caused Victoria to fall back and, presumably, this is when she hit her head so harshly it led to some odd aftereffects.
It Only Hurts When I Laugh
The rest of you, 3%, voted that there’s nothing wrong with Victoria and that “it’s all in her head.” (Get it? All in her “head!”) Regardless of what’s caused her behavior, it’s given her portrayer, the Emmy-winning Heinle, a chance to show some different colors.
While her condition is likely to bring Billy even more into her life, it’d also make sense if Victoria’s past beau, Stitch, a doctor, popped in to check on her. Who knows if that will happen, but it would sure make sense if it did!
