When Lola first arrived on The Young and the Restless, it was obvious what her purpose was (other than making tasty sandwiches, that is). She was there to teach Kyle (Michael Mealor) the valuable lesson that there is more to life than rich people, and that there is joy – and love – to be had with a hardworking, self-made, low maintenance woman.

Past Impressions On The Young and the Restless

There was the inevitable love triangle, when Summer (Hunter King), in exchange for donating a piece of her liver to save a dying Lola (Sasha Calle), blackmailed Kyle into marriage. Good, soapy drama at its finest!

Eventually, love triumphed, and Kyle divorced Summer and wed Lola in a romantic ceremony marred only by her never-do-well Daddy showing up.

Kyle and Lola were so, so happy. Until Kyle’s friend Theo (Tyler Johnson) came to town, and Lola was pleasant to him. Kyle could not stand that! Shortly after, he decided he’d loved Summer all along and asked Lola for a divorce.

Next Up

Lola moved on with Theo. They had fun. They had sex. They had a friendship. Except Lola soon pulled the plug on that… after Theo was late for a date and didn’t text her. Sure, that’s a good reason.

Nothing Left

So Kyle is with Summer… we think, that’s a big mess we’re not tackling on this go around. Theo – and his portrayer – are on their way out. Lola offered Elena (Brytni Sarpy) an apartment to share and a shoulder to cry on. Which is nice. But not exactly a storyline.

The only other man even vaguely in her age range is Devon (Bryton James) – we’re basing this on Lola and Elena being the same age group, and Elena being hooked up with Devon. And, well, maybe Nate (Sean Dominic). But they’re both in a quad of their own. Maybe Noah can come back. An aged Johnny Abbott? Otherwise, there’s no place for Lola in Genoa City!
