Jack told Nikki that the of them two of them needed to go their separate ways (again) on The Young and the Restless so Jack can care for his mother, Dina, who’s been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.
The question remains — where will Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) go now that she and Jack are kaput? Soap Hub posed this to Y&R fans. Read on for the results!
Alone Again, Naturally
While soaps are all about couples and romance, the majority of you (70%) feel that Nikki should spend some time alone. That can be the best thing after a breakup.
People need time to heal and they can do that more easily when they’re not expecting another relationship to help them get over a past love. Meditation. Reflection. Contemplation.
These would be all great things that Nikki could focus on in order to get as strong as she possibly can.
Old Habits Die Hard
A subgroup (almost 17%) just can’t let go of the past and suggests that Nikki return to Victor. The two have been drawn to each other for decades and always found their way back to each other.

They’ve each had children with other people (though Nikki’s son Dylan was conceived before she met Victor) and married other people, but fate and time always reunite them. While it’s likely inevitable they’ll reconnect, maybe Nikki shouldn’t go back to him just yet.
Anti-Victor League
Just under 5% of you feel that Nikki should fight for Jack’s love, but we’re not sure that’s viable. While there’s a strong bond between them, Nikki and Jack may be better off as friends.
Over 8% feel that Nikki shouldn’t date Victor or Jack, but should instead date another man. While there are a few candidates here or there in Genoa City whom she could spend time with (Neil, maybe?), it might be a good time for the show to introduce a new man to Genoa City who could romance Nikki and, ultimately, go up against Victor for her heart!
