Jack’s son, Kyle, has returned to The Young and the Restless (YR), played by soap opera newcomer Michael Mealor.
Although born in 2001, the prodigy seems to have skipped a few grades, seeing as how he should be only 17 years old and isn’t a high school junior, but a corporate mover and shaker who already spent several years in New York City running a Jabot subsidiary.
So how do fans feel about Kyle Version 2018? Over 12,000 gave the Abbot scion a progress report:
New York State Of Mind
Maybe this is how they do business in NYC, but 89% of Genoa City watchers don’t appreciate a snot-nosed brat who takes advantage of his dad’s (false) arrest to blow into town, plop himself down in his dad’s CEO chair, and scheme with his dad’s greatest enemy to steal the company away from him.
Because that’s what Kyle did. He waited until Jack (Peter Bergman) was in jail for allegedly assaulting Victor (Eric Braeden), before returning home.
He fired loyal-to-Jack employees like Gloria (Judith Chapman) and fought off a CEO challenge from Billy (Jason Thompson) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson). He’s also working with Victor to take Jabot public and let Victor buy up a majority of the stock.
John Abbott would not have approved of such behavior. Especially after his own son did kind of the same thing to him.
Tell Me More
This new Kyle is kind of fun, 10% of you whisper in a small voice. Genoa City needs some fresh blood movers and shakers, and a younger generation that can go toe to toe with the older one.
Kyle definitely has potential, and his alliance with Victor is steeped in history. When Kyle was first born, his legal name was Christian… after his presumed biological father, Victor.
Some scores need settlin’ here!
