Victoria Rowell Previews Season Three Of The Rich And The Ruthless!

She’ll always be beloved as Drucilla on The Young and the Restless, and now Victoria Rowell can be seen on the third season of a series that takes a behind the scenes look at the sudsy world of soap operas!

Rowell spoke to Soap Hub about the return of The Rich And The Ruthless, the UMC series, in which she stars as Kitty Barringer, wife of Augustus Barringer (played by Richard Brooks).

The Rich And the Ruthless, in addition to the name of the series, is also the name of the soap that Augustus owns. And, it’s facing some big financial problems!

“[The Rich And The Ruthless on-air soap] is hanging on by their cuticles to stay on the air,” previews Rowell. “They’re on cancellation watch, but they’ve skimmed by yet again [to stay alive] on the WBN network!”

Rowell says Kitty has taken on too much this season and it’s going to catch up with her! “We’ll see a fractured Kitty further into the season,” the actress teases.

Watch for Augustus to still have feelings for Calysta Jeffries (Alesha Renee). Rowell says we’ll see Calysta’s daughter, Ivy (Akilah Releford), try to manipulate her mom. “There are a lot of machinations behind the camera and some fractured marriages!”

Also, this season, the cast of The Rich and the Ruthless is going to set sail for a fan club cruise with devotees of the show. There’s no set destination, but Rowell promises, “Mayhem does happen on the high seas!”

Earlier this year, The Rich And The Ruthless won two Indie Series Awards earlier this month for Best Ensemble and Best Lead Actress (Alesha Renee) in a comedy series.
