Melody Thomas Scott has always viewed The Young And The Restless as more than just a place of work. The show, to her, is family. And, now, the actress is sharing some sad news about one of her beloved colleagues at CBS.
The actress shared on Instagram that Jenna Wittman, a former YR makeup artist, who, in 2015, moved over to sister soap, The Bold And The Beautiful (the show on which her husband, Edward Scott, serves as producer) was on life support at the time and not expected to survive.
“It is with a heavy heart that I share the tragic news of our decades-long friend and makeup artist extraordinaire, Jenna Wittman,” Scott wrote on her social media page. “On life support, with no hope of recovery, I said my goodbyes and wishes for a peaceful journey into her ear this morning.
“Please join me and the companies of @TheYoungandtheRestless and @TheBoldandtheBeautiful in prayer, wishing her a speedy journey to the most loving eternity. We will always love you, Jenna.”
Late Saturday night, BB producer Casey Caspyzyk tweeted that Wittman had passed away earlier in the day.
In 2018, Wittman won a Hollywood Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist Guild Award for her work on BB. Soap Hub sends sincere condolences to the Wittman family and everyone at The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful at this difficult time.
Yesterday, #BoldandBeautiful family lost an incredible makeup artist & human being #JennaWittman. Our hearts are heavy, but we smile remembering her sense of humor, dedication to craft, & ability to make everything & everyone better.
